Inspired By The History Of Santorini
Painter Vania Stefanou, inspired by Santorini’s landscape, history and mythology, has created exquisite artworks entitled “Life-perpetual motion”, exhibited at the “AKRON” Art-Centre, in Megalohori. According to the creator: “Wherever humanity fights for survival and life, it is reborn through the ashes and debris in a perpetual motion”. This is the story of Santorini as it has on it all the scars of the dramatic natural phenomena which have violently changed the shape of the island more than once. And, it still remains standing as a figure of strength and survival. In all of these artworks we notice the presence of an intense shade of red color, mainly in the form of balloons floating, but also in the form of the small local tomatoes. The balloons symbolize the uplift of our existence and the red color, the intensity of life. Duration: until mid October. Open daily: 10:30-20:30. Phone:+ 30 22860 82002. Admission is free.
